Nintendo held its second Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday, September 9, showcasing upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch 2. The event covered a range of new titles, remastered versions, and updates across various franchises. One highlight was the reveal of Monster Hunter Wilds, developed by Capcom, which is set to launch on December 4, 2026, with all updates included. An expansion called Ascendance is planned for 2027. Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment of the Final Fantasy VII trilogy, received a new trailer and is scheduled for April 8, 2027, on the Switch 2. Pre-orders are now open, and a version of Crisis Core will be available immediately on the console. Several remastered and updated games were also announced. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be released on September 29, followed by Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in 2027. A remastered version of Pikmin 4, featuring voice commands and a new "Academy Dandori" mode, is expected on November 12. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will arrive on December 3 with a new "Horde" mode. Deluxe editions of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 will be available on the eShop on October 16, with physical versions to follow later. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will reimagine the first episode of the Tomb Raider series, launching on February 12, 2027. Nintendo also unveiled its own original titles. Metroid Ravenous, a new 2D game featuring Samus Aran facing a mysterious absorption mechanism, is set for January 28, 2027. Kirby and the World Beyond, a new 3D Kirby game, was revealed as a surprise at the end of the presentation and is scheduled for 2027 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the franchise. The pink hero can also take on a form inspired by The Legend of Zelda’s Link. Other updates included a 1.8.0 update for Mario Kart World, which adds ten tracks from the original Super Mario Kart and two new rallies. Lego Batman: L’Héritage du Chevalier noir (Lego Batman: The Knight’s Tale) will be released on September 18, while Danganronpa 2×2 is set for January 14, 2027, and Persona 4 Revival on May 20. Additional titles include Fatal Fury, a compilation of Metal Slug games, Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, The Crew Motorfest, Stellar Blade, The Ascent, It Takes Two, and Hell is Us. Other announcements included updates on Yo-Kai Watch 2 and a teaser for Persona 6. While Nintendo did not release the large physical cartridges that some fans were hoping for, the Switch 2 has a robust lineup of games planned for the months ahead.
