Amazon slashes prices on the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, now under 400 €, offering a long-lasting battery and robust features in a competitive price war.
Amazon lowers prices on Xiaomi smartphone
Amazon has significantly reduced the price of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, responding to an early Black Friday promotion by Boulanger. The smartphone, which was launched in France in September, is now available for 399 €, down from its original 553 € price on the official Xiaomi store.Key features of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G is equipped with an 8,340 mAh battery, a 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and IP68 and IP69K dust and water resistance. It also includes six years of security updates and promises Android 21 support.Performance and design compromises
Despite its strong features, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, which offers modest performance. It lacks 4K video recording, wireless charging, and includes advertisements in its HyperOS 3 interface. Additionally, the charger is not included in the box.Battery technology and charging capabilities
The smartphone’s large battery uses silicon-carbon anode technology to increase energy density. It supports HyperCharge 67 W fast charging, though a compatible charger is not included with the device. In testing, it lasted two days on a single charge under normal use.Position in the market and target audience
While not designed for gaming, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G offers durability, robustness, and ample storage. At 399 € for the 512 GB version, it is becoming a competitive option in the current price war between Amazon and Boulanger.
