Xiaomi launches new smartphone in France

In September, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 17 Pro in France, continuing its Redmi Note series after skipping a version 16 Pro. The phone builds on the features of the previous Redmi Note 15 Pro but includes a redesigned look with color-specific reflective effects.

Discounts available at Boulanger

At Boulanger, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is currently sold at a reduced price of 309.99 euros. This discount includes a refund offer and a trade-in bonus, which require customers to sell an old smartphone. The standard 6 GB + 256 GB version was originally priced at 499.90 euros and is now listed at 449.99 euros.

Battery and screen specifications

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is equipped with an 8340 mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last two days on a single charge. It also features a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2772 x 1280 pixels and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

Processor and performance

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor with 6 GB of RAM. This combination is suitable for general use but may not be ideal for high-end gaming or intensive tasks that require significant processing power.

Design changes and color options

Xiaomi redesigned the Redmi Note 17 Pro by placing the camera sensors in a corner of the device, a change from the centered layout on the Redmi Note 15 Pro. Three color options are available: black and purple with a matte back, and a blue version with a cloudy effect. Only the black version comes with a case and the Redmi Buds 8 Lite earbuds. While the bezels are considered a minor design flaw, they are seen as acceptable for a smartphone in the 300 euro price range.
