Drew Henry, a designer known for his work with high-profile fashion houses such as Celine, JW Anderson, Phoebe Philo, and Burberry, has been named creative director of the French brand Courrèges. He is set to present his first fashion show for the brand during the spring-summer 2027 season. This season, only two new creative directors will debut in Paris: Drew Henry and the new director of Carven. Courrèges' show will take place at the Palais de Tokyo, a modern and minimalist venue chosen to highlight the clothing and models, a shift from the more conceptual and visually dramatic presentations previously led by Nicolas Di Felice, who helped revive the brand in 2021. Drew Henry has expressed both excitement and nervousness about the upcoming show, calling it a pivotal moment in his career. He emphasized the importance of Courrèges' use of color and its optimistic, joyful, and imaginative spirit. Henry plans to draw inspiration from the vibrant aesthetics of the 1960s, using the brand's archives and historical emblems, such as the 1967 logo. The show will feature a range of silhouettes, with a focus on knitwear and color, and will include pieces inspired by archival designs, such as bright orange trousers, almond green trapeze dresses, and vivid green skirt suits. The soundtrack for the show will be created by London-based producer Vegyn. Drew Henry was born in Witbank, South Africa, to British and Irish parents. He began his fashion education at LISOF in Johannesburg and later studied at Central Saint Martins in London. He was appointed creative director of Courrèges in May 2026, following Nicolas Di Felice, who had revitalized the brand through the reissue of iconic pieces like mini-skirts and vinyl jackets. Courrèges is part of Artémis, a holding company owned by the Pinault family, which also controls the luxury group Kering. The brand has expanded its retail presence, opening nine stores and operating approximately 200 sales points worldwide. This growth reflects Courrèges' increasing visibility in the global fashion scene. With Drew Henry's appointment, the brand is looking to continue its upward trajectory while maintaining its signature style and heritage. The upcoming show is expected to be a significant event in the Parisian fashion calendar, showcasing both the brand's history and its future direction.
