A new Chinese automaker, **GAC**, is preparing to enter the French market with the introduction of two electric vehicles set to be revealed at the Paris salon in the near future. **GAC** is already active in several European countries and has decided to unify its various Chinese brand names—**Trumpchi**, **Aion**, and **Hyptec**—under a single identity for international markets. The initial lineup features the **Aion UT**, an electric compact sedan, and the **Aion V**, an electric SUV. Both models are assembled at **Magna Steyr**, an Austrian manufacturing plant, similar to how some **Xpeng** models are produced. In the months ahead, **GAC** may introduce more models, including both fully electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The **Aion UT** is aimed at the compact sedan market, where it will compete with vehicles like the **MG4**, **BYD Dolphin G**, **VW ID.3**, **Kia EV4**, and **Renault Mégane**. Priced at 26,990 euros for the base model, it is positioned at the lower end of the segment. It comes with features such as electric and heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a heat pump, and two screens—an 8.8-inch and a 14.6-inch display. The audio system includes six speakers, and the Luxury version adds features like a powered tailgate, heated windshield, panoramic roof, ventilated driver's seat, electrochromic interior mirror, and an induction phone charger with ventilation, available for an extra 1,500 euros. In terms of performance, the **Aion UT** delivers 150 kW of power to the front wheels, is powered by a 60 kWh battery, and offers a range of 430 kilometers. It can be charged from 10 to 80% in 32 minutes. The vehicle also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, which allows it to supply power to external devices, as a standard feature. The **Aion V**, which shares a similar technical platform with the **Aion UT**, is designed for the segment C SUV category. It measures 4.60 meters in length and offers a boot capacity of 600 liters. It has a 75 kWh battery that provides a range of 510 kilometers and can be charged from 10 to 80% in 24 minutes, slightly faster than the **Aion UT**. The base price for the Premium version is 35,990 euros, which includes a panoramic roof, front electric, heated, and ventilated seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a heat pump, and screens similar to those in the **Aion UT**. The Luxury version adds 1,000 euros for features such as front massage seats, a heated and cooling compartment in the center console (ranging from -15°C to +50°C), a tablet behind the passenger seat, and an active air purification system. Both the **Aion UT** and **Aion V** are covered by an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty, with the battery receiving an extended warranty of 200,000 km. They have also received the highest safety rating of 5 stars in the **EuroNCAP** tests.
