GAC, a Chinese automaker, introduced its electric vehicles to the French market during a brand launch event in Paris on Monday, September 21, 2026. The Aion UT and Aion V SUV, two of GAC's models, are now available in France, with prices set at 26,990 euros and 35,990 euros respectively. These prices are slightly lower than the same models in Spain, which are priced at 30,995 euros and 37,995 euros. The Aion UT is a compact electric car, measuring 4.27 meters in length, and is equipped with a 60 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. This battery provides a range of 430 kilometers on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) cycle, which simulates real-world driving conditions, and up to 620 kilometers in city driving. The vehicle produces 201 horsepower and 210 Newton-meters of torque, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds. However, its fast charging is limited to 87 kW in direct current, requiring 32 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%. It also supports 11 kW in alternating current via an on-board charger. The Aion UT's Premium trim, priced at 26,990 euros, includes features such as front electric and heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, a heat pump, 17-inch wheels, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, an 8.88-inch instrumentation screen, and a 14.6-inch central screen. The Luxury trim adds a panoramic roof, electric tailgate, ventilated driver’s seat, 50 W ventilated smartphone induction charger, electrically folding mirrors, and a heated windshield, with a price increase of 1,500 euros. In comparison, the Aion V SUV is larger, measuring 4.61 meters in length, and features a larger 75.26 kWh LFP battery, offering a 510 km WLTP range. It shares the same 201 hp and 210 Nm engine as the Aion UT but has a more advanced charging system, with a maximum power of 180 kW, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80% in just 24 minutes. The Premium trim of the Aion V starts at 35,990 euros and includes front electric and ventilated seats, front and rear heated seats, a heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, 360-degree camera, electric tailgate with hands-free operation, heat pump, and the same two screens as the Aion UT. The Luxury trim of the Aion V adds features such as front massage seats, a trim combining leather and synthetic leather, an aviation-style tablet for the right rear passenger, and a compartment with temperature control ranging from -15 to +50 degrees Celsius, with a price increase of 1,000 euros. GAC offers an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for both cars, with the high-voltage battery covered for 8 years or 200,000 km. Additionally, the first 1,000 customers will receive four years of maintenance and 300 euros worth of free charging. For long-term rental, the Aion UT is available from 299 euros per month with an initial rental of 2,500 euros, compared to 99 euros per month and a 3,500 euro initial rental for the Aion V. Both rental options are for a period of 48 months and cover 40,000 kilometers. GAC's European production in the Magna plant in Austria allows the manufacturer to avoid additional tariffs imposed by the European Union on electric cars manufactured in China, making its vehicles more competitively priced in the European market.
