The InnoTrans railway exhibition, held every two years in Berlin, opened on September 22 and will run until September 25. This event, which began in 1996, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026. Since its first edition, InnoTrans has become a key meeting point for professionals in the global railway industry, drawing participants from around the world. The 2026 edition features nearly 3,000 exhibitors from approximately sixty countries, making it one of the most significant gatherings in the sector. The exhibition’s importance is underscored by the number of visitors it attracts. The last edition in 2024 drew nearly 170,000 attendees from 133 countries, showing the event’s global reach and relevance. This year, the exhibition continues to showcase the latest advancements in railway technology, with more than a hundred vehicles displayed on over 8 kilometers of track—similar to the number seen in 2024. Spanning an area of 200,000 square meters, the event takes place across 42 halls and outdoor spaces, all of which are fully occupied. This vast space allows for a wide range of exhibits, from cutting-edge train models to innovative infrastructure solutions. The scale of the exhibition reflects the ongoing growth and development of the railway industry, which continues to evolve with new technologies and global demands. As the railway sector faces increasing challenges, including the need for sustainable and efficient transport solutions, InnoTrans serves as a platform for sharing ideas and forging partnerships. The event not only highlights current achievements but also sets the stage for future innovations that will shape the industry in the coming decades.
