The High Five Festival returns for its 16th edition, taking place in Annecy from October 2 to 4, 2026. The event will feature 85 films across 16 screening sessions at the Annecy Pathé cinema, along with conferences, masterclasses, animations, and concerts. Faithful to its tradition, the festival brings together the entire outdoor sports community, with skiing as the central theme. The programming includes sessions dedicated to major events in outdoor sports, such as the Pierra Menta, the Diagonale des Fous, the Tor des Géants, and the UTMB—long-distance races that take place in mountainous regions. On Friday, October 2, at 19:30, a session titled "Mythical Races" will screen four films dedicated to these events. On Saturday, October 3, at 13:00, a session titled "Session by Snowleader" will feature a film about an athlete's rapid ascent of Mount Blanc followed by a paragliding descent. Another film, Presque seuls dans les Alpes, will explore a thirteen-day ski journey from the glaciers of the Vanoise to the Mediterranean. On Saturday, October 3, at 16:15, a session titled "Mountain Stories by ZAG" will screen six films, including La Chèvre d'Hispar, a production by Hugo Clouzeau highlighting mountaineer Hélias Millerioux. At 17:15, a session titled "Climbing by Atome" will screen four climbing-related films, including Le Pinceau des Cimes, which portrays mountaineer Symon Welfringer. On Saturday, October 3, at 20:15, a session titled "High icy mountains" will screen three films and an immersion in high mountain experiences, including a tribute to Guillaume Pierrel, who tragically disappeared in an avalanche in June 2025. On Sunday, October 4, at 10:00, a conference titled "The role of emotions in decision making in the mountains" will take place at the Stomp House (Novotel), featuring discussions on how fear, enthusiasm, or group effect influence choices in the mountains. The festival will take place from October 2 to 4, 2026, in Annecy. Screenings will be held daily at the Pathé cinema, with masterclasses and conferences also taking place at the Stomp House (Novotel). Tickets for movie sessions cost 12.99 €, with a 10% discount for four tickets purchased. Masterclasses cost 20 €, while conferences are free, subject to availability.
