Mobile operators raise prices ahead of SFR acquisition

French mobile operators are gradually increasing their prices as they prepare for the acquisition of SFR by Orange. This move is part of a broader trend as companies adjust their pricing strategies in anticipation of major changes in the market.

Sosh announces price increase

Sosh, a mobile operator owned by SFR, recently informed its customers of a planned price increase for their service plans. The company has not specified the exact amount of the increase but has stated that it will be implemented in the near future.

Red by SFR raises rates with added data

Red by SFR, another mobile operator under the SFR brand, has announced a price increase of 1.99 euros per month. The company cited the need to "continue to offer you a quality experience on a daily basis" as the reason for the increase. Alongside the price hike, the operator has also added 20 GB of additional data in Metropolitan France to the plan.

Average data usage in France

According to the latest Arcep observatory report published on October 8, the average mobile data consumption in France is 19.3 GB per month. This figure provides context for the additional data included in Red by SFR’s updated plan.

SFR does not allow staying on old rates

Unlike Sosh, SFR does not allow customers to remain on the old rate and offer. The company states that those who wish to refuse the increase "have the possibility to terminate your contract." This policy may influence customer decisions regarding their mobile service providers.
