Xiaomi launches new robot vacuum

Xiaomi has introduced the Robot Vacuum 6 Max, which it describes as its most advanced robot vacuum. The device replaces the X20 Max and includes features like a powerful suction system and automatic cleaning functions.

Key specifications and features

The Robot Vacuum 6 Max has a suction power of 35,000 Pa, a continuous water supply for its roller cleaning system, and a height clearance of 6 cm. It also includes a triple camera system with AI for navigation and a multifunctional station that handles cleaning, emptying, and drying automatically.

Availability and technical details

The Robot Vacuum 6 Max has been available since October 15 at a launch price of 999 €. It was tested with firmware version 4.5.8_0492 and the Xiaomi Home app version 11.7.704. The robot has a diameter of 35 cm and a LiDAR turret that can lower to 9 cm for navigating under low obstacles.

Cleaning and connectivity features

The robot connects through the Xiaomi Home app, which is compatible with iOS, Android, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Xiaomi HyperOS Connect. Users can select specific rooms, draw zones, schedule multiple cleanings, and choose between suction, cleaning, or combined modes.

Performance and noise levels

The Robot Vacuum 6 Max operates at 48.5 dB (A) in standard mode and 58 dB (A) in Boost mode, making it one of the quietest robot vacuums in its class. It maps rooms quickly and navigates around obstacles with precision, although it sometimes has trouble with hanging curtains.

Cleaning effectiveness and battery life

The robot performs well on hard floors, removing 99% of debris in standard mode, but is less effective on thick carpets and deep floorboards. It returns to its station automatically when the battery reaches 15%, with a runtime of 205 minutes in standard mode.

User experience and component availability

The device received an overall score of 8.7/10, with praise for its ease of disassembly and spare parts availability. However, some components like the battery and motherboard are not widely available. The robot’s navigation and cleaning capabilities are strong, but it faces competition from models like the Mova P70 Pro Ultra and Narwal Flow, which offer better suction at lower prices.
