Team heads to Germany for training

The Swedish national biathlon team is traveling to Ruhpolding, Germany, for a training camp, which is their third session this week. This trip comes after previous training sessions in Meråker, Norway, in June and Font-Romeu, Pyrénées-Orientales, last month.

Combining training with a festival

While in Bavaria, the team is also attending the Loop One Festival in Munich, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday. This event allows the athletes to reunite one last time before heading back to Idre Fjäll, Sweden, with their cross-country skis.

Coach emphasizes the value of the session

Johannes Lukas, the national team coach, said the group has not had many team training sessions this year. He believes it is beneficial to gather again, and combining the event with the Loop One Festival makes the trip more efficient.

Ruhpolding's advantages

Ruhpolding is a convenient location due to its proximity to Munich, which makes travel easier. Some training sessions will be shared with the German team. The German coach of the Swedes noted that Ruhpolding is an excellent place for training and that the weather in Central Europe is generally more stable at this time of year.

Several athletes absent

Several athletes are not attending the training camp. Sebastian Samuelsson and Malte Stefansson are staying home due to colds, while Jesper Nelin is recovering from a knee injury. Hanna Oeberg and Linn Gestblom are also absent because they are pregnant.

Present athletes include a variety of participants

Among the athletes present are Anna Magnusson, Anna-Karin Heijdenberg, Ella Halvarsson, Elvira Oeberg, Johanna Skottheim, Sara Andersson, Philip Lindqvist-Floetten, Martin Ponsiluoma, Viktor Brandt, and para biathlete Zebastian Modin, who is participating in the group for this occasion.
