Fiat introduces new concept vehicle

Fiat has revealed a new concept vehicle named Multiplay at the 2026 World Auto Show. The design draws inspiration from two of Fiat’s past models: the 1956 Multipla and the 1998 Multipla, both known for their innovative use of space.

Vehicle can transform between configurations

The Multiplay is 4.45 meters long and features a system called "Metamorfosi" that allows it to change from a family minivan into a pickup truck. The rear part of the body slides along rails to create an open cargo bed when needed.

Different configurations for different needs

In its family mode, the Multiplay offers six seats and modular space for passengers and cargo. When converted to pickup mode, it retains four seats and provides a large loading area for bulky items. A rear rack can also pivot to become a built-in bicycle carrier for two bikes.

Innovative interior features

The concept includes a "Petsenger seat" that can function as a child seat support, storage space, a small table, or a pet area. Part of the cushion can transform into a leash, and a foldable bowl is built into a door for convenience.

Comfort and design elements

Another feature is the "Sunseat," which turns the front passenger seat into a chaise lounge when parked. The interior design is inspired by a watermelon, with green exteriors and red, pink, and turquoise accents. A central screen blends into the dashboard when the vehicle is turned off, reducing visual clutter.

No plans for production confirmed

Fiat has not stated whether the Multiplay will become a production model. The company describes it as a testbed for ideas that may be used in future vehicles. Details about its powertrain, battery, range, or performance have not been shared, leaving its energy source unclear.
