Sandra Bullock, 62, has shared that she doesn’t remember winning her Academy Award in 2010 because she was "hiding a newborn" at the time. She won the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side, a sports biopic based on a true story. However, behind the scenes, she was secretly caring for her newly adopted infant son, Louis, who was just a few months old. During an interview on Live With Kelly And Mark, Bullock said she "remembered nothing" about the event, adding that she had "maybe two hours of sleep" due to Louis’s acid reflux, which kept him awake every two hours. She explained that she was too exhausted and focused on her son to fully enjoy the moment. Bullock admitted that while winning an Oscar was a huge honor, her main concern was getting back home to Louis. She said she was desperate to return because she knew someone else was likely helping care for her son and wanted to take over that responsibility. Upon returning home, she struggled to remove her evening dress and ended up sitting in it while feeding Louis. The Oscar sat on the floor beside her as she tried to adjust to the overwhelming night. She said the exhaustion helped her cope, adding that she "just wanted to go home." When asked about what people thought when she left the Oscars early, Bullock said they probably assumed she was tired. She explained that she attended the after-party but was eager to get the name on her Oscar and then leave. She said everyone understood her need to go home to her son, who was still a secret at the time. Louis had been living with her since January 2010, but she didn’t publicly confirm his adoption until April of that year, around the time she filed for divorce from her then-husband, Jesse James. Since then, Bullock has raised Louis, now 16, as a single mother and later adopted her daughter Laila, now 13. She was in a relationship with photographer Bryan Randall from 2015 until his death in 2023 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurological disease that affects muscle control.
