Coris Bank International Burkina Faso reports a 17.8% profit jump, with shares surging 195.9% as revenue growth outpaces stock performance.
Bank reports strong profit growth
Coris Bank International Burkina Faso, owned by Burkinabé businessman Idrissa Nassa, reported a net profit of 62.34 billion FCFA (106.3 million $) as of September 2026, up 17.8% year-on-year, according to its activity report published on October 29. Revenues and income rise
The bank's net banking income (NII), equivalent to the revenues from banking activities after deducting interest expenses, increased by 14.9% to 116.37 billion FCFA. Its pre-tax result increased more rapidly, by 23.9%, reaching 71.9 billion FCFA. Deposits grow faster than loans
Customer deposits reached 2,372.15 billion FCFA, up 26.4% year-on-year, while net credits grew at a less sustained rate of 15.2%, reaching 1,386 billion FCFA. The ratio of net credits to deposits decreased from 64.1% to 58.4% in a year. Gains from asset sales
The bank recorded financial income from the sale of shares in certain subsidiaries, without specifying the amount. As of June, Coris Bank had recorded 6.44 billion FCFA in net gains on fixed assets, compared to only 69 million a year earlier. Credit risk improves
Regarding credit risk, the management notes an improvement in the quality of the portfolio and the coverage of degraded receivables, without publishing ratios that would allow precise measurement of this evolution as of September. Stock price rises sharply
On the stock exchange, the performance is spectacular. As of October 29, the Coris Bank International Burkina Faso share was trading at 31,900 FCFA, up 195.9% since the end of 2025, compared to 52.8% for the BRVM Composite index. Investor concerns remain
For investors, the question now concerns the bank's ability to sustain the growth of its revenues and results, independently of the exceptional income related to the sale operations.
