Free trial for Crimson Desert Enhanced begins

Pearl Abyss, the Korean developer behind Crimson Desert, has launched a free trial for the Enhanced version of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series platforms. This trial coincides with the release of the game’s first major DLC, Charting the Unknown, on October 29, 2026.

Trial availability differs between consoles

The free trial is available on both PS5 and Xbox Series, but with different requirements. On Xbox Series, the trial is open to all players without needing a subscription like Xbox Game Pass. However, on PS5, only PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers (or Deluxe in regions where Premium isn’t available) can access the trial, as it is part of the PlayStation Plus game trial system.

Saved progress can be carried over to full game

Players can save their progress during the trial and transfer it to the full version if they purchase the game later. On Xbox Series, the save file remains valid until January 7, 2027, for all players. On PS5, the save file is valid until October 29, 2027, for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.

Trial includes base game but not the DLC

The free trial grants access to the base game in its Enhanced version but does not include the Charting the Unknown DLC. The only restriction is a fixed five-hour playtime, and the trial can only be used once per account. Unlike a 20-minute demo previously available on Twitch, the trial requires a full download of the game on the console.

How to access the free trial

Players on Xbox Series can access the trial by opening the Microsoft Store, searching for Crimson Desert Enhanced, and downloading the trial version. On PS5, players with an active PlayStation Plus Premium subscription should go to the PlayStation Store, search for Crimson Desert Enhanced, or check the PS Plus game trial section.
