DLC release delayed for Crimson Desert
The first major downloadable content (DLC) for Crimson Desert, titled Charting the Unknown, is set for release on October 29, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The DLC was originally scheduled for mid-October but was delayed by fifteen days, with Pearl Abyss announcing the delay on September 30, 2026, citing the need for additional development time to ensure a more complete and stable experience.Release times vary by region
In France, players will be able to access the DLC starting at 11 p.m. local time on October 29, 2026, as the European launch is scheduled at 10 p.m. UTC. For North America, the release time is set for October 29 at 15:00 (Pacific Time) and 18:00 (Eastern Time). In Asia, the DLC will be available on October 30 at 7:00 (Korean and Japanese time).Platforms and availability
The DLC will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store at the same date and time worldwide. However, Mac users will have to wait, as the expansion will not be available on the Mac App Store at launch. The price for the DLC in Europe is set at 24.99 €. The DLC introduces several new features, including three new narrative arcs for each of the heroes—Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane—which can be accessed from the Journal menu after completing the main story. Players will also be able to explore underwater areas, build or buy a ship to travel the Great Ocean of Pywell, and engage in romances and festivals to deepen relationships with Pywell's inhabitants.Enhanced housing and combat
The housing system will be improved, allowing players to build their houses from A to Z. Additionally, three specific castles will be available for Kliff's tribe, and a new combat-focused mode called the Garden of Trials will be introduced, featuring a chain of bosses from the main game. Pearl Abyss notes that access to some new features requires fulfilling certain prerequisites, such as completing the main campaign to unlock the new narrative arcs. Players who are behind may have limited time to complete Kliff's adventure before the new content becomes available.
