The release of Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation 5 has been pushed back, with multiple reports suggesting the game will now launch in early 2027. Initially, the game was expected to arrive on PlayStation 5 alongside its release on Xbox Series X|S and PC, but the new timeline indicates a delay. Some sources claim the game will be released on January 26, 2027, while others suggest January 27, 2027. The PlayStation 5 version will be available both digitally and as a physical disc, priced at 69.99 euros, matching the cost on Xbox platforms. Forza Horizon 6 is a popular open-world racing game in the Forza series, known for its expansive maps and variety of vehicles. The game has already been available on Xbox Series X|S and PC for several months, allowing players on those platforms to experience the game while PlayStation 5 users wait for the delayed release. Playground Games, the studio behind Forza Horizon 6, has acknowledged the delay and apologized for not being more transparent about future updates and features for the game. Microsoft, the company behind Xbox and the Forza franchise, is expected to officially announce the new release date for Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation 5 in the coming days. The delay may be due to the complexity of adapting the game to the PlayStation 5 platform, ensuring it meets the same high standards as on Xbox. Fans of the series have expressed mixed reactions, with some understanding the need for additional development time and others expressing disappointment over the delay. The game's availability on multiple platforms highlights the growing trend of cross-platform releases in the gaming industry, where players can access titles across different systems. However, the delay for PlayStation 5 users underscores the challenges developers face when porting games to different hardware. As the release date approaches, players will likely keep an eye on official announcements and updates from Microsoft and Playground Games.
