The Asus Vivobook S16 is a lightweight laptop designed for professionals and students who need a balance of performance and portability. It features a 16-inch IPS screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,200 pixels), and a 144 Hz refresh rate, which helps with smooth visuals during multitasking or media consumption. The screen has a brightness level of 300 nits, which is adequate for indoor use but may cause glare in direct sunlight, making it less ideal for outdoor work. One notable design choice is the placement of the trackpad on the left side of the keyboard, which is different from the standard right-side layout. This may require some time to adjust for users accustomed to traditional setups. Inside the laptop, it is powered by an Intel Core 7 processor and comes with 16 GB of RAM, offering enough power for common tasks like word processing, photo editing, and light video editing. The 256 GB solid-state drive (SSD) provides fast data access and sufficient storage for most users. The Asus Vivobook S16 also boasts a battery life of up to 15 hours, allowing users to work or study without needing to plug in frequently. This makes it a good option for those who need a reliable device on the go. However, the limited screen brightness and specific trackpad placement may not appeal to all users, especially those who work in bright environments or prefer traditional layouts. Currently, the Asus Vivobook S16 S5652MA-TK134W model is available at Cdiscount with a promotional code that offers a 22% discount. The price drops from 1,069 euros to 834 euros by entering the code 15DES129. This discount could make the laptop a more attractive option for those looking for a high-performance device at a reduced cost.
