At the **Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026** in Dubai, **Etihad Airways** unveiled its new cabin designs for its upcoming **Airbus A330neo** aircraft. These cabins, branded under the theme "Beyond Borders," will feature a three-class layout — First, Business, and Economy — and will begin entering the airline’s fleet in September 2027. The airline plans to expand the "Beyond Borders" concept to other aircraft models, lounges, and customer experiences over time, investing 20 billion dollars in modernizing its fleet and improving passenger services.
In First class, the A330neo will offer four private suites located at the front of the aircraft. Each suite includes a sliding door, a 32-inch screen, wireless charging, personal storage, and a makeup desk with beauty products. Passengers can also invite a companion to join them in the suite for meals or other activities. This marks a continuation of Etihad’s efforts to enhance its First class, which will be extended to more aircraft and routes in the coming years. The airline’s flagship First class offerings — First Apartments and The Residence — will remain exclusive to its **Airbus A380** aircraft.
The Business class will feature 24 fully reclining flatbed seats, all facing forward and equipped with a sliding door for privacy. Each seat includes a 17.3-inch screen, wired and wireless charging, a large tablet, and dedicated storage. These features are designed to cater to the growing demand for premium travel in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The Economy class will include 252 seats, with 32 offering an extra 4 inches (about 10 cm) of legroom. Seats will have a fixed winged headrest with the Etihad logo embossed on it. Passengers will also have access to a 13.3-inch 4K touchscreen and a personal charging solution. Etihad aims to create a more relaxed and visually appealing environment in line with the "Beyond Borders" brand identity.
The "Beyond Borders" design concept is inspired by the natural landscapes, architecture, and urban development of Abu Dhabi. The cabins incorporate lighting based on Etihad’s geometric "facet" motif, premium perforated leather seats, and subtle design elements like projecting First class seat numbers onto the floor. This visual theme is intended to unify Etihad’s in-flight and on-ground experiences, including lounges, catering, and wellness services. The new Airbus A330neo aircraft are expected to start operating in September 2027, offering a full three-class configuration for the first time on medium- to long-haul routes.
