At the end of 2025, DJI, a well-known manufacturer of drones and consumer electronics, entered the robot vacuum cleaner market with its first product, the DJI Romo P. A year later, the company launched an upgraded version called the Romo P2, which offers enhanced cleaning performance. During the French Days, a major online shopping event in France, the retailer Boulanger reduced the price of the Romo P2 by 18%, bringing its cost down to 1,059 euros from the original launch price of 1,299 euros. The Romo P2 is praised for its ability to clean hard-to-reach areas like baseboards and grooves, its self-cleaning station that requires no maintenance for a year, and its robotic legs that allow it to cross thresholds up to 8.5 cm. The Romo P2 features a semi-transparent design, which lets users see its internal components and the cleaning station. It uses advanced LiDAR technology and 3D ToF (Time of Flight) sensors at the front, along with two RGB cameras and a dust detection lamp. On its first pass, the robot creates a detailed map of the space, allowing users to divide their home into cleaning zones or set areas where the robot should not go. The robot has a powerful suction of 38,000 Pa, making it effective at picking up dust and crumbs. It includes an anti-entanglement system to prevent hair from getting wrapped around the brush. The Romo P2 also has articulated legs that help it navigate over thresholds up to 8.5 cm. A new addition is a 123° oscillating arm, which allows the robot to clean under furniture up to 4.5 cm in height. After completing its cleaning tasks, the robot returns to its charging station, where it washes and dries the mops at high temperatures. The dust bag should be replaced every 60 hours, and the roller brush every 300 hours. The robot has a three-hour battery life, and the cleaning station is designed to require no maintenance for an entire year. The Frandroid editorial team awarded the Romo P2 a perfect score of 10/10 after testing. The French Days 2026, which run through September 14, offer numerous technology deals.
