The Ecovacs Goat A1600 LiDAR Pro lawn mower is now available for 799 euros on Amazon Prime, which is an 18% discount compared to its average price over the past month. This model uses LiDAR navigation, a technology that helps robots map and navigate spaces using laser sensors, instead of an RTK antenna, which is typically used for precise location tracking. It also includes a border-cutting module, which is designed to trim edges of lawns more precisely. While the mower is marketed as a good option for large lawns, some manual trimming may still be necessary, especially around trees or shrubs. The Ecovacs Goat A1600 LiDAR Pro features a double cutting disc, which allows it to cut grass more efficiently, and a dedicated system for trimming borders. However, some users have reported that the border-cutting function can be noisy and that the mower’s autonomy, or the time it can operate before needing to recharge, is limited. The app that controls the mower has also been criticized for unclear instructions. In case of theft, the mower relies on an alarm and a PIN code rather than GPS tracking. Despite these drawbacks, the model simplifies setup by removing the need for an RTK antenna, and it maintains reliable navigation even in areas with obstacles or limited space. The Dreame A1 Pro lawn mower is an improved version of the A1 model, offering better performance and design. It includes serrated wheels for better traction on uneven ground and a matte finish that is more resistant to scratches. It also features expanded multi-map management, allowing users to manage multiple, non-contiguous garden areas through the app. The mower retains a full app with reliable navigation that doesn’t require additional wiring, and it provides generally uniform mowing results. However, its ability to handle corners and borders could still be improved. Compared to more advanced or expensive models, the Dreame A1 Pro is seen as a strong option for users who want a balance between simplicity, efficiency, and customization. It is considered one of the best choices in terms of quality and price, especially for those who don’t have highly fragmented terrain or high expectations for detailed finishing touches. The mower offers a good combination of performance and user-friendly features, making it a popular choice in its category.
