Ecovacs, a company known for its smart home and robotic cleaning products, has unveiled a new line of robotic lawn mowers called Goat T. This range includes two consumer models, the T1000 and T1600, as well as a professional version intended for larger properties. These mowers are designed to offer advanced navigation, improved mobility, and efficient grass cutting, catering to both home users and professional landscapers. The Goat T series features a full-time four-wheel drive system with four independent electric motors, one in each wheel. This setup allows the mower to turn in place without slipping and to navigate uneven terrain effectively. The mowers also include a wireless LiDAR navigation system, which uses laser scanning to map the environment and guide the robot. This system doesn’t require external GPS or physical cables and can detect obstacles with high precision. The consumer models, priced at €999 each, will be available later this year, while the professional model, Goat XT10000 4WD Pro, is designed for areas up to 10,000 square meters and includes enhanced battery and cutting capabilities. The Goat T models are equipped with a retractable lateral rotary edge trimmer to cut grass along walls and other hard-to-reach areas. The T1600 model, in particular, offers a fully electric height adjustment system, allowing users to set the cutting height between 30 and 100 mm. It also features a six-blade cutting plate for more efficient mowing. The professional version includes an advanced docking station with an automatic self-cleaning system that connects to an outdoor watering hose, reducing maintenance efforts. Ecovacs claims the Goat T series can handle steep slopes up to 40 degrees and climb over obstacles up to 8 cm high. However, these claims were demonstrated at an exhibition and have not yet been independently tested. The HoloScope 360 navigation system, which uses LiDAR, can detect obstacles with 1 cm accuracy and identify over 300 different types of objects. The consumer models are waterproof according to the IPX6 standard and share similar dimensions, making them suitable for a wide range of lawn sizes.
