New gaming mouse from ASUS

ASUS has introduced the ROG Spatha X 65K, a new version of its Spatha gaming mouse aimed at players of MMO and MOBA games. The mouse emphasizes customization, precision, and long battery life, with features designed to enhance both gaming and productivity.

Modular weight system

The ROG Spatha X 65K weighs 125 grams in its lightest form, but users can adjust the weight to 125, 135, or 145 grams using a modular mass system. This allows players to tailor the mouse's feel to their preference and playing style.

Customizable buttons and advanced sensor

The mouse includes 12 programmable buttons that can be customized for various tasks. It is equipped with the new ROG AimPoint Pro 65K optical sensor, which offers 65,000 DPI, a maximum speed of 800 inches per second, and an acceleration of up to 70 G. It also features Track-on-Glass technology for better tracking on compatible glass surfaces.

Connectivity and switch options

Users have three connectivity options: wireless 2.4 GHz with ROG SpeedNova, Bluetooth, or wired USB. The mouse includes the ROG Push-Fit Switch Socket III, which allows for easy replacement of the switches on the main buttons. ASUS offers two switch types: the ROG Micro Switch II, rated for 100 million clicks, and the ROG Silent Micro Switch, rated for 50 million clicks with quieter operation.

Battery life and charging

ASUS claims the mouse has a battery life of up to 148 hours on a single charge, with 15 minutes of charging providing up to 25 hours of use. It comes with a vertical charging stand, a feature that is becoming less common but is still practical for users.

Design and pricing

The mouse is described as imposing, easy to handle, and suitable for various environments, with a focus on technological advancement and physical customization. However, the scroll wheel is noted for being noisy. The ROG Spatha X 65K is priced at 170 CHF and has received a 9/10 review, with praise for its quality, practicality, and customization options, but criticism for the noisy scroll wheel.
