Lightweight and balanced design

The new Logitech gaming mouse G Pro X3 Superstrike has made a strong impression with its lightweight design, balanced build, and haptic clicks. However, improvements over the previous X2 model are described as modest, with the price remaining unchanged at 190 euros.

Clean and minimalist appearance

The mouse retains Logitech's clean design from the G Pro range, avoiding flashy lighting or aesthetic gimmicks. It weighs 61 grams, making it surprisingly light and well-balanced, though some noted the lattice design and rubber band gave it a somewhat cheap appearance for its price.

Customizable features and improved performance

The setup is straightforward, with the Lightspeed receiver allowing immediate operation, though the G Hub software is necessary to fully customize features such as sensor sensitivity, trigger depth, rearm settings, and haptic feedback intensity. The mouse's internal layout has been revised to recenter the mass, improving glide and balance during rapid movements.

Advanced sensor and scroll wheel

The optical sensor Hero 2 has been upgraded to a maximum sensitivity of 48,000 DPI, and the polling rate can now reach 8,000 Hz both wired and wireless. The scroll wheel, initially criticized for its design, offers clear detents and precise scrolling. The BHOP mode, which prevents accidental activation of the scroll wheel, is also present, though it requires some time to adapt to its modified response.

Battery life and charging options

Logitech claims up to 135 hours of battery life, compared to 90 hours for the previous generation, thanks to the new NxLOGI controller. However, charging takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach a full battery. The mouse can be used while charging via a USB Type-C cable and can also use the Powerplay 2 charging mat, sold separately for 110 euros.

Target audience and value proposition

While the G Pro X3 Superstrike is praised for its ease of use, lightness, and haptic clicks, it is seen more as a refined evolution than a revolutionary update. Existing owners of the X2 may find little reason to upgrade, and the price point may deter casual users. For professional, semi-professional, or passionate gamers willing to invest in high-end peripherals, the X3 Superstrike is considered an excellent choice, while more versatile or budget-friendly options may be better suited for less intensive use.
