Leaker shares details on Galaxy S27 Ultra

Ice Universe, a well-known source for leaks about Samsung smartphones, recently posted measurements for the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra on the social media platform X. These details include the device’s screen bezel size and other physical dimensions.

Minimal change in screen bezel

The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to have a 1.28-millimeter bezel around its screen, which is slightly thinner than the 1.32-millimeter bezel on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This difference is less than half the thickness of a single sheet of paper and would likely be imperceptible to the human eye.

New OLED panel for improved display

The S27 Ultra is anticipated to use the M16 OLED panel from Samsung Display, a new generation of OLED materials already found in the iQOO 16 smartphone from Vivo. This panel is expected to offer higher brightness, better power efficiency, and more accurate color reproduction.

Thicker camera module expected

Despite the thinner bezel, the camera module on the S27 Ultra is expected to be slightly thicker, measuring 4.69 millimeters compared to about 4.5 millimeters on the S26 Ultra. This is more than the 4.56 millimeters previously estimated by OnLeaks based on CAD renderings.

Overall thickness increases slightly

According to the new measurements, the Galaxy S27 Ultra would have a chassis thickness of 7.97 millimeters and a total thickness of 12.7 millimeters at the thickest point. This is a slight increase from the previously estimated 12.53 millimeters.

Thicker module allows for design changes

The increased thickness of the camera module is attributed to the use of a new main ISOCELL HP6 sensor from Samsung, which remains in the 1/1.3 inch category. While the sensor size does not increase, the thicker module provides additional space for the battery by relocating some internal components.

Samsung lags behind in bezel thickness

The Galaxy S27 series is expected to launch in early 2027. Meanwhile, Chinese manufacturers have already achieved thinner bezels, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max reaching 0.99 millimeters. This indicates that Samsung still has some catching up to do in this area of smartphone design.
