Profiles are now available in the Apple TV app on iPhone and iPad, a feature that was previously only available on the Apple TV box with tvOS 26.2. This allows multiple users to share the same Apple TV app without mixing their personal recommendations or playback history. Each profile can be customized with a name and can be designated for a child, which automatically limits content to lower age ratings. Parents can adjust these settings based on the child's age. When the app is opened, users are prompted to select their profile, and a "+" button allows the creation of new profiles. This is especially helpful in family situations, such as when an iPad is shared among multiple users. The feature was first spotted in the initial beta version by MacRumors and follows a similar logic to services like Netflix or Disney+, where each user selects their own profile when launching the app. Initially, Apple reserved this feature for its Apple TV box, but now it has extended it to iPhones and iPads. The Apple TV app is now included in iCloud+ for more than 100 countries, except France, and is also available on Android devices. Currently, the profile feature is only available to developers who have installed the beta version of iOS 27.2. Apple released this beta just two days after the public release of iOS 27. The public beta is expected to follow, with the final version likely to be released by the end of October. Apple skipped the iOS 27.1 update to move directly to the beta of iOS 27.2. This unusual version number may be because iOS 27.1 is expected to be reserved for the upcoming iPhone Duo, a new model rumored to launch in October. iOS 27 has already introduced several new features, including a tool that helps detect potential identity theft risks from scams, about fifteen hidden settings that save users time, the ability to create shortcuts without technical expertise, and a feature that disables certain DNS ad blockers. The iOS 27.2 beta also activates Siri’s artificial intelligence in French, though only on non-European iPhones. It also includes subtle additions like the 3D effect on wallpaper backgrounds, a feature that was introduced earlier this summer.
