Paris Photo 2026 dates and location

The 29th edition of Paris Photo will take place at the Grand Palais from November 12 to 15, 2026, featuring the works of 1260 artists from around the world. The event will coincide with the bicentenary of photography, with celebrations beginning in September of that year.

Announcement of the new edition

On September 8, Paris Photo presented the programming of its new edition within the auditorium of the Jeu de Paume in Paris. Florence Bourgeois, director of the event, stated that the international fair will be "the first major international gathering within the framework of the Bicentenary."

Exhibits and special installations

The Centre Pompidou will present a hundred works by thirty artists from its collection, including recent acquisitions made in anticipation of this exhibition. A path dedicated to the Bicentenary will be discovered by wandering through the halls of the Grand Palais. At the entrance, visitors will be greeted by an installation by Thomas Ruff, which is distinguished by its experimental approach to the eighth art.

Historical and contemporary photography

As they wander, they can also contemplate images elaborated from the first photographic processes, such as the calotype, the daguerreotype, and the photogram. Beyond its tribute to the Bicentenary, this 29th edition will highlight contemporary creation.

Featured artists and special sectors

Antony Cairns and SMITH will be featured in the prism projects, along with Lara Tabet and Yasmine Chemali, the laureates of the BMW ART MAKERS 2026 program, and Mirjam Reiter, Camille Cellier, Jonas Glanz, and Jinyong Lian, the four winners of the Paris Photo Students Prize. Four sectors will accompany the main sector, with "Voices," conceived by Zasha Colah and Francesco Zanot, focusing on disappearance as a political idea.

Digital and emerging photography

"Digital," imagined by Marco De Mutiis, the new curator for Paris Photo, will include productions in artificial intelligence and show photography thought in digital. "Emergence," located on the first floor, will host twenty monographic projects by young artists from nine different countries. The "Editions" sector will bring together 48 publishing houses and specialized bookshops.

Fisheye Gallery and Agence France-Presse

The Fisheye Gallery will exhibit at Paris Photo not in the "Emergence" sector, but in the heart of the nave. It will present an unprecedented sample of the silver archives of the Agence France-Presse. The exhibition will highlight the materiality of photography, consecrating "the status of the 'image-object' as a tangible fragment of history."

Public accessibility and future exhibitions

The scenography will emphasize reversibility. In addition, some of these photographs will be displayed in seventeen metro stations in Paris until January 2027, as part of an exhibition labeled by the Bicentenary of Photography.
