Maccabi Tel Aviv targets Killian Hayes

Maccabi Tel Aviv is reportedly in contact with French guard Killian Hayes, according to Israeli journalist Arale Weisberg of Hadisco. The club is seeking to strengthen its perimeter play, particularly with the prolonged absence of Iffe Lundberg, who suffered a partial tear of his quadriceps tendon during training.

Lundberg's injury sidelines him for weeks

An MRI confirmed the injury, which is expected to keep the Danish forward out for six to eight weeks. Lundberg had appeared in the first six EuroLeague games of the season, averaging 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.

Hayes' NBA journey ends with free agency

Killian Hayes, 25, was selected seventh in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. He spent several seasons in the NBA, including stints with the Brooklyn Nets and the Sacramento Kings, but was released by Sacramento in June 2026 after they chose not to exercise his contract option for the following season.

Hayes could debut in EuroLeague with Maccabi

Hayes, who previously played in Germany with Ratiopharm Ulm before entering the NBA, is now an unrestricted free agent. An opportunity to join Maccabi Tel Aviv would allow him to make his EuroLeague debut, as he has not yet played in the competition.

Nemanja Nedović also under consideration

In addition to Hayes, Maccabi Tel Aviv is also reportedly considering Nemanja Nedović, who previously played for AS Monaco. Coach Oded Kattash has acknowledged that the Serbian international is among the players being evaluated to bolster the team's roster.
