Ziv joins Maccabi Rishon LeZion

Israeli basketball player Yiftach Ziv has signed with Maccabi Rishon LeZion for the remainder of the 2026-2027 season, the club announced on Sunday, November 1.

Career in French and Spanish leagues

Ziv spent most of his career in the French league, including time with Saint-Quentin, except for the 2023-2024 season when he began in Spain with Grenada before returning to Saint-Quentin for the end of the season.

Injury affected playoff performance

During the 2023-2024 season, Ziv contributed to Saint-Quentin’s strong regular season with averages of 6.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, but he suffered an injury during the playoffs against ASVEL, which limited his impact.

Return to Israel and EuroLeague absence

After returning to Israel, Ziv played for Hapoel Holon and later Hapoel Tel-Aviv, where he played a key role in the league but did not participate in EuroLeague games. He previously played 24 EuroLeague games for Maccabi Tel-Aviv between 2021 and 2023.

Reuniting with familiar faces

At Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Ziv will reunite with coach Guy Kaplan, with whom he previously played for Gilboa Galil. He will also join Justin Tillman, a former Nanterre player who has taken over from Nathan Kuta, a new recruit to the Mans team.
