New series concludes trilogy

VisionQuest, the final installment of a trilogy beginning with WandaVision and followed by Agatha All Along, is now streaming on Disney+ since October 14. The eight-episode series follows Vision (Paul Bettany) as he continues his search for identity, while a mysterious client hires the mercenary Paladin to capture him alive.

Early episodes available elsewhere

The first two episodes of VisionQuest are also available on Konbini, a Japanese streaming platform. Fans are already discussing the series, speculating about hidden secrets and character returns.

Billy Maximoff's possible return

A popular theory among fans suggests that Billy Maximoff, one of the twins created by Wanda’s magic in WandaVision, may reappear. After Wanda ended the Westview anomaly, the twins’ bodies disappeared. However, Agatha All Along revealed that Billy’s soul had transferred into the body of William Kaplan (Joe Locke), while Tommy’s soul joined that of Thomas Shepherd (Ruaridh Mollica).

Clues in early episodes

Some fans believe Billy may have made a discreet appearance in VisionQuest. In the first episode, a young man wearing a brown jacket and scarf passes near Tommy and reappears in the background as Tommy talks with his accomplice. The internet user @Apex_willye noted on X that this character resembles Joe Locke. Additionally, some fans pointed out the young man’s red scarf, which they believe resembles the look of the young sorcerer.

Clues in trailers

Another clue may be hidden in one of the series’ trailers. A brief shot shows two hands helping Vision. The first, on the left, emits yellow-orange energy, likely belonging to Tommy. The second hand, in the lower right corner of the image, projects blue energy and has painted black nails. Fans immediately connected this to Billy.

Theories about Billy's role

A second theory suggests that Billy may have hired Paladin to find Vision and reunite his family. This hypothesis is based on the belief that the voice of the "Client" who gives Paladin his instructions resembles Joe Locke’s voice. However, it is unclear whether Billy anticipated the violence of the mercenary, who eventually turns on Tommy to lure Vision into a trap.

Actor attends premiere

These theories remain speculative, and Marvel has not confirmed Billy’s presence in the series. However, Joe Locke, who portrays Billy, attended the London premiere of VisionQuest on October 12, alongside Paul Bettany and Ruaridh Mollica. If confirmed, Billy’s return could complete the cycle of the trilogy by reuniting the members of the Maximoff family, except for Wanda, presumed dead.
