The Moustache Lundi 27 electric bike gets a major update with a lighter frame, new motor, and lower price, but with reduced battery capacity and power.
Third-gen Moustache Lundi 27 released
The third generation of the Moustache Lundi 27 electric bike, first introduced in 2022, has been updated with a new Bosch Hub Line motor, a smaller battery, and a lighter frame. The new model starts at 2,399 €, a 300 € reduction from the previous price set by the manufacturer.Design and weight improvements
The bike keeps its signature M-shaped handlebar and flat steering tube but now includes thinner tubes and a redesigned frame that makes it easier to mount. The new model weighs 24.2 kg, which is 2.6 kg lighter than the previous version. It is available in four colors—black, violet, green, and grey—and comes in two sizes: XS/S (155 to 165 cm) or M/L (162 to 190 cm).Motor and battery specifications
The Moustache Lundi 27 is powered by a Bosch Hub Line motor, which provides 400 W of power and 45 Nm of torque. This is a step down from the previous central Performance Line motor, which offered 600 W and 50 Nm of torque. However, the new motor can still reach a maximum speed of 25 km/h in Turbo mode. The bike uses a 360 Wh battery, smaller than the previous 500 Wh model, with a claimed range of 70 km in Eco mode, though actual performance may vary.User interface and connectivity options
The bike includes a Purion 200 screen that shows battery level and mode settings. The Flow application, which allows users to customize settings and view trip data, is available for free. An optional Flow+ subscription costs 3.99 € per month for extra features. A Comodule GPS tracker can be added for 99 € to enable full connectivity and tracking.Urban-focused features and limitations
Designed for city use, the Moustache Lundi 27 includes front and rear lights, a rear rack, and a wheel lock. It is equipped with Schwalbe Moto X tires of 2.4 inches, offering good grip on urban roads. However, the bike is not suitable for off-road trails because of its rigid fork and geometry. A suspended seat post is available as an optional upgrade to reduce shocks on city streets.Battery charging and availability
The bike's battery can be removed and charged either on the bike or separately. The standard charger provides 2A (84 W) of power and takes about 3h15 to reach 50% charge, 5h for 80%, and 6h15 for a full charge. A faster charger (4 A/168 W) is available for 79.99 €, cutting charging time in half. The bike is sold through 600 dealers in France, with in-store assembly and delivery. It comes with a 5-year warranty on the frame and fork, and a 2-year warranty on the electric components. Financing options and a buyback program for older bikes are also available.
