The Employment Fair in Lunel is a key event for job seekers in the region, taking place on Tuesday, October 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Espace Castel. The fair is free to attend and includes accessible facilities for people with reduced mobility. Organizers and exhibitors will be welcomed starting at 8:30 a.m. with an opening breakfast. For the seventh year in a row, the fair is being organized by the City of Lunel, Lunel Agglo, France Travail Lunel, and the Local Youth Mission Petite Camargue Héraultaise. The Youth Information Point (PIJ), part of the City's Department of Sport, Youth, and Associative Life, is leading the event. Students from Louis-Feuillade High School, who are enrolled in the Hospitality/Tourism program, have been assisting visitors for five years. Pascal Chabert, deputy for SMEs, emphasized that the fair is a result of collective effort in Lunel. The city is also working on redeveloping its economic zones to promote a decarbonized economy, with plans to create 500 jobs in new technologies. Jérôme Boisson, president of Lunel Agglo, pointed out that 63% of people from Lunel work in nearby cities like Nîmes or Montpellier, and he supports the creation of local businesses to retain workers. Gérard Testard, director of France Travail in Lunel, said it is essential to create conditions that connect employers with job seekers. Agnès Flutet, director of the Local Youth Mission Petite Camargue Héraultaise, added that collaboration helps better meet the needs of local businesses. The fair will be held across five rooms on the ground and first floors, with 60 stands expected. Nearly fifty recruiters will offer more than 150 job opportunities in various sectors, including retail, healthcare, animation, catering, the environment, food industry, administration, construction, real estate, and temporary work. The event is not solely focused on employment, as fourteen partners will be present. Six will assist visitors with their rights, such as disability and career change support. A preparation space will help with CVs, cover letters, and interview practice, while seven partners will offer advice to entrepreneurs on starting or taking over a business, including representatives from Via Innova, the CMA, the CCI, BGE Montpellier, the Adie, and the Pôle Entreprendre. Last year, 763 people attended the fair. To help with travel, Lunel Agglo is offering free minivans in all communes. Schedules are available, with arrivals in Lunel between 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., and returns between 12 p.m. and 12:25 p.m. The meeting point is at the town hall square of each commune. In Lunel, the pickup and drop-off will be at the "Lafayette" stop, located at 171 Boulevard Lafayette. Registration is required with the CIAS at 04 67 83 53 52 before Monday, October 12, at 4 p.m., within the available places.
