Early access to new cultural venue

The Centre Pompidou Francilien in Massy, Essonne, will open its doors to visitors in advance during specific weekends in October. These early visits are part of a program called "Prélude!" and are meant to give people a preview of the new cultural space before its official opening in spring 2027.

Official opening in 2027

The official opening of the Centre Pompidou Francilien is set for spring 2027, which will mark the 50th anniversary of the original Centre Pompidou in Paris. This new venue aims to continue the legacy of its Parisian counterpart, which is known for its distinctive architecture and cultural programs.

Program includes performances and exhibitions

The early access weekends will feature a variety of activities, including performances, workshops, exhibitions, and meetings. One of the highlights is an installation by artist Hicham Berrada, which will be displayed in a photography studio that is still under construction.

Focus on architecture during first weekend

The first weekend of early access, October 17 and 18, will focus on architecture, coinciding with the National Architecture Days in France. This aligns with the broader theme of the new Centre Pompidou Francilien, which is designed to reflect the architectural style of the original Beaubourg building in Paris.

Free entry requires advance booking

While entry to the early access weekends is free, visitors are required to make reservations in advance. The Centre Pompidou has already shared images of the exterior spaces on its Instagram account, giving a glimpse of the venue’s design. However, the interior is still being finalized, though the essential elements are now in place.

Limited availability for some dates

Some of the early access weekends have already reached capacity. The weekends of October 17 and 18, and October 24, are fully booked, according to the ticketing system. Visitors are encouraged to book through the official website to secure their spot for the remaining dates.
