The French Tennis Federation (FFT) held a conference on Tuesday, September 22, at the Tenniseum of the Stade Roland-Garros to address issues related to vulnerabilities and gender-based and sexual violence (VSS) in sports. The event brought together sports organizations, government agencies, specialized groups, researchers, and professionals from the field to explore topics beyond the traditional coach-athlete relationship. Key figures included Gilles Moretton, president of the FFT, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, president of the National Council for Sport (CNOSF), Marie-Amélie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee, and Sarah El Haïry, High Commissioner for Childhood. Mejdaline Mhiri, co-author of La Zone d'Impunité, moderated the discussions. The FFT has been working to raise awareness about VSS since the creation of its integrity cell. According to the federation, 20,000 people have been sensitized through digital training and outreach initiatives. Since 2023, a program called "Ligue Tour" in partnership with the association REBOND has reached around 500 people. Starting in December 2024, a "Clubs & Committees Tour" conducted through webinars with the organization BIEN JOUER aimed to sensitize an additional 550 people. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to prevent and address VSS in sports. The FFT has also implemented specific measures during its major events since 2025. At Roland-Garros, a safe zone was established in the infirmary to provide support and guidance to individuals who wish to report incidents. The federation also emphasizes the availability of legal protection for victims who face dismissal and the presence of integrity referents in regional leagues. These steps aim to ensure a safer environment for all participants. According to the FFT's report, approximately 900 people were sensitized during the Roland-Garros 2025 event, with an additional 200 people reached during the Rolex Paris Masters in the same year. These numbers reflect the federation's ongoing commitment to addressing VSS and promoting a culture of integrity and safety in sports.
