SwitchBot has introduced the K11+ Pro, an upgraded version of its compact robot vacuum, featuring a suction power of 12,000 Pa. This is double the suction power of the previous model, the K11+, which had 6,000 Pa. The design of the robot remains largely unchanged, with the same compact dustbin station that holds up to 4 liters of debris and is said to last up to 90 days. The K11+ Pro measures 24.8 cm in diameter, 9.2 cm in height, and weighs 2.3 kg, making it small enough to navigate under most sofas and between chair legs. The price remains at 399.99 euros, the same as the original K11+. In terms of navigation, the K11+ Pro uses a lidar LDS sensor to map out the home, combined with a proximity sensor to follow walls and avoid furniture legs. The device can be controlled through the Matter protocol, which allows integration with Apple Home, Alexa, or Google Home, in addition to the SwitchBot app. However, the company has not provided details on battery autonomy, which is a notable omission. An Amazon listing suggests the K11+ Pro has a runtime of 120 minutes, compared to 150 minutes for the K11+, but this has not been officially confirmed by SwitchBot. The K11+ Pro is described as a "dry cleaning" device that uses disposable wipes rather than a water tank or mopping function. This method is considered both costly and environmentally unfriendly, and its effectiveness appears limited based on previous tests of SwitchBot vacuums. Additionally, the K11+ Pro does not feature a camera or artificial intelligence-based obstacle avoidance, which are present in more expensive models. These omissions may affect the robot's ability to navigate complex environments. The K11+ Pro is currently listed as available, but the European SwitchBot store indicates that shipments will begin in October for the white version and mid-October for the black one. At 399.99 euros, the K11+ Pro seems to be aimed at consumers who prioritize a small, unobtrusive robot vacuum that can work without frequent recharging. However, the lack of information on battery life and the limitations of its cleaning method may make it less appealing for those seeking a more comprehensive cleaning solution.
