Oppo launches Enco X4 wireless earbuds in Europe with advanced features like lossless audio and AI translation, but at a steep price increase.
Oppo launches Enco X4 in Europe
Oppo unveiled its Enco X4 wireless earbuds in Europe alongside the international launch of its Find X10 smartphones in Majorca. The Enco X4, previously available in China since late September, are now priced at 219 euros in Europe, nearly 90 euros more than the Enco X3i, which were launched in Europe in 2024 at 129.90 euros.Higher price justified by features
Oppo cites features such as sound tuning with Dynaudio, lossless audio, and AI translation as justifications for the higher price. However, the lossless audio and AI translation features largely depend on using an Oppo smartphone.Dual-speaker design and sound tuning
Each Enco X4 earbud contains two speakers: an 11 mm woofer for bass and a 6 mm planar tweeter for treble. Each earbud also has its own DAC, allowing frequencies to be processed separately. The tuning is done by Dynaudio, a Danish speaker manufacturer, with five custom equalization profiles.Support for lossless audio
The Enco X4 are the first Oppo wireless earbuds to support lossless audio through the LHDC Lossless codec. This codec can reach data rates up to 2.3 Mb/s for files in 24 bits and 48 kHz, surpassing CD quality (16 bits and 44.1 kHz).Compatibility with Oppo smartphones
However, this lossless format is only compatible with Find X10 series smartphones equipped with a MediaTek chip. AI-powered real-time translation into more than 30 languages also requires an Oppo device running ColorOS and uses cloud processing.Integration with Google's Gemini assistant
The Enco X4 are also the first Oppo earbuds capable of activating Google's Gemini assistant with a simple "Ok Google" command, provided they are connected to a compatible device.Battery life and performance
Oppo claims the Enco X4 offer 53 hours of battery life without active noise cancellation and in AAC format. With noise cancellation enabled, battery life drops to 6 hours per charge and 26 hours with the case.Noise cancellation and hardware
For noise cancellation, Oppo uses three microphones and a dedicated AI chip etched in 6 nm. The adaptive mode recognizes environments such as metro, bus, taxi, or plane, adjusting noise cancellation intensity automatically.Limited battery life with lossless audio
When both lossless LHDC and noise cancellation are active, battery life further decreases to 5.5 hours and 22 hours with the case. The earbuds are IP55 certified for dust and water resistance, but the case is not protected.Promotions and discounts
The Enco X4 have been available on Oppo's online store since this Wednesday, with a 30 euro discount reducing the price to 189 euros until November 30. Additionally, students can receive a 30% discount.
