XPeng has unveiled the **G9L**, an extended variant of its popular G9 electric SUV, aimed at large families and professionals who need to transport multiple passengers. The G9L is designed with three rows of seating, first-class comfort, and fast-charging capabilities, with a price tag that places it in the same range as German premium SUVs. Measuring 5.12 meters in length, 1.99 meters in width, and 1.79 meters in height, the vehicle offers a spacious interior and a 3.10-meter wheelbase. It features an electric front with a closed, sleek design, including the XPeng logo on the hood and horizontal light bands at the ends of the bumper. Four color options are available: Arctic White as standard, and Starry Black, Slate Gray, and Emerald Green as optional upgrades. Inside, the G9L is focused on luxury and comfort. It offers either six or seven seats depending on the version, with features like Nappa leather, ventilation, and massage functions for the front seats. A standout feature is the zero-gravity passenger seat, which allows the front passenger to lie almost flat, with an AI-adjusted seat that remembers and automatically adjusts the preferred position. The second-row seatback is electric, equipped with blinds for sun protection and real seats for passengers. The vehicle includes electric doors at the front and rear, a light carpet that activates when passengers approach, and two interior ambiance options: Anthracite and Terra Cotta. The G9L is packed with advanced technology, including an electric refrigerator built into the rear of the center console, a multimedia screen integrated into the roof for rear passengers, a central air conditioning system that covers the panoramic roof, and an AR-HUD (augmented reality head-up display) for navigation information. The cabin is controlled by three Turing chips, with an advanced AI system managing the seats, infotainment, and driving assistance functions. Powered by an 800V platform with an NMC 5C battery, the G9L can achieve a charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. Three versions are available: the Extended Range ULTRA (rear-wheel drive, 7 seats, 367 hp, 591 km WLTP range, starting at 74,990 €), the Performance ULTRA (all-wheel drive, 7 seats, 585 hp, 553 km WLTP range, starting at 79,990 €), and another Performance ULTRA version with 6 seats. The all-wheel drive models include a pneumatic suspension and four-wheel steering, resulting in a turning diameter of about 11 meters. Safety features are standard across all versions, including AEB (automatic emergency braking) for pedestrians, cyclists, and intersections, lane-keeping, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, door opening warning, and a high-strength steel body. The G9L competes with models such as the Mercedes EQS SUV, BMW iX, Kia EV9, and Volvo EX90. Chinese competitors include the Zeekr 9X and Li Auto i8. The G9L positions itself as a strong alternative, offering more seats, more equipment, and faster charging compared to its rivals, with the rear-wheel drive version starting at 74,990 € and the all-wheel drive versions starting at 79,990 €. Optional features include a Premium Pack at 4,990 € and an electric tow hitch at 1,290 €.
