Huawei has introduced the Watch GT 7 Pro, an upgraded version of its high-end smartwatch line, featuring improved battery life, more detailed health monitoring, and a more refined design. The new model includes a 45.6 mm titanium alloy case with a black ceramic back, a 1.47-inch OLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, and an 867 mAh battery. It is water-resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM) and certified with IP68 and IP69 ratings, though it is recommended to avoid sudden pressure changes and high-speed water activities. The watch runs on HarmonyOS 6.1 and offers 64 GB of internal storage, allowing users to store music and sync with the Huawei Health app, which is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. The Watch GT 7 Pro includes a range of sensors such as a compass, heart rate monitor, ECG, GPS, SpO2 (blood oxygenation), and temperature sensors. It also features a fluoroelastomer strap designed to be comfortable and reduce skin irritation. Enhanced health tracking features include sleep analysis, stress monitoring, and a new "Health Insights" tool that provides daily summaries and recovery scores. The watch also includes improved sports modes for activities like skiing and cycling, though some of these features require a software update and compatibility with HarmonyOS 7.0. Despite these improvements, the Watch GT 7 Pro lacks access to popular apps like Spotify, Deezer, and Strava, which are not available on the HarmonyOS ecosystem due to restrictions from the U.S. embargo. However, users can control music playback from their smartphones and sync activities with Strava through the Huawei Health app. Contactless payments are possible via a third-party app, Curve, but not supported by French banks. The watch offers a smooth and responsive interface with a rotating crown for navigation and a flat button for quick access to exercise modes. The Huawei Health app provides detailed health metrics, exercise tracking, and personalized coaching, though it is noted for being somewhat complex and cluttered. The battery is reported to last up to 21 days in light use, with real-world testing showing around 15 days of use with one hour of exercise per day. The Watch GT 7 Pro is described as having an imposing design with a slightly thick profile, but it is praised for its high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The screen is readable in various lighting conditions, and the overall build quality is considered excellent. However, the lack of a unified app ecosystem and the need for multiple permissions to access features are seen as limitations. The watch is priced at 429 euros, an increase from the previous model.
