Event highlights digital careers in Lille

The Bank of France is hosting the event "Osez les métiers du numérique" for the first time in Lille, aiming to introduce middle and high school students to digital professions and challenge gender stereotypes. Around 100 students will participate on November 9 at the Bank of France’s regional branch in Lille.

Addressing gender gaps in tech fields

The initiative focuses on encouraging career choices, especially among girls, in a context where women are underrepresented in digital professions. As artificial intelligence and computer design become more central in society, diverse perspectives in their development are increasingly important.

Participating schools and students

The event will include students from four institutions in the Académie de Lille: Lycée EIC, Lycée Anatole France, Collège Paul Langevin, and Collège Le Triolo. These students will engage in activities designed to explore digital careers and challenge traditional gender roles in the field.

Structure and activities of the event

The day will feature an interactive roundtable with digital professionals and students, followed by a visit to a "digital professions village." This will allow students to explore various career paths in smaller groups. Around 15 staff members from the Bank of France’s Direction générale des systèmes d’information (DGSI) will participate, showcasing their daily work in real time.

Long-term goals and partnerships

The event is part of a broader effort by the Bank of France to strengthen ties with the Académie de Lille. It aims to increase internships for students and encourage local companies to support similar initiatives. The event is organized by the DGSI under the leadership of Philippe Leblanc and Stéphane Martinat, with coordination by Pauline Attissobé.
