Calypso Faure, the new president of the Protestant Book Festival, has expressed her vision for the event, stating, "We want an open event that highlights authors and writers who are Protestant or have written works related to Protestantism. The idea is to emphasize the importance of the link between Protestantism and literature." Faure has taken over from her mother, Anne Faure, who passed away in January 2026. She aims to preserve the spirit of the festival, which first began in 2022 as a cultural event celebrating Protestant thought and literature. The 2026 edition of the festival will feature a wide range of participants, including historians, pastors, theologians, journalists, economists, actors, writers, and illustrators. Among those signing books are theologian Antoine Nouis, who will present his new work, La Bible qu’on ne raconte pas aux enfants. La sexualité, entre désir et convoitise (Labor et Fides, 320 p., 22 €), and film critic Jean-Luc Gadreau, who will also sign his new book, Je dînerai avec toi. 40 menus méditerranéens inspirés par des repas de la Bible (Bibli’O, 144 p., 29,90 €). The book will be previewed at the festival, and Gadreau will also lead sound sequences during the event. Two round tables will be held, both moderated by journalist Frédérick Casadesus. The first, at 3:30 p.m., will focus on the theme "Thinking about the world today," featuring philosopher and historian François Hartog and theologian and pastor Antoine Nouis. The second, at 5 p.m., will explore the topic "Between powers, conflicts and peace: what hope in a fragmented geopolitical world?" with Jean-Fred Berger, a division general (CR), and Guy-Olivier Faure, a specialist in international relations and negotiations. At 4:30 p.m., the festival will present its literary awards in the categories of history, essay, theology, and jury prize. The Protestant Book Festival will be held on Saturday, October 3, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Protestant Institute of Theology, located at 83 bd Arago, Paris 14th. The event will conclude with an aperitif, offering attendees a chance to network and reflect on the day's discussions and presentations.
