Mayotte seeks new council members

The Department-Region of Mayotte has begun accepting applications for the new Departmental Council for Citizenship and Autonomy (CDCA 976), aiming to refresh its membership. The call was announced on October 28 and is open to representatives from various groups focused on autonomy, aging, and disability.

Organizations applying must be legally registered, active in Mayotte, and involved in promoting autonomy, old age, or disability support. Proposed representatives must be adults with full civil rights. The CDCA offers two specialized trainings: one for working with elderly people and another for those with disabilities.

Applicants must submit an official form, a motivation letter signed by a legal representative, and a copy of the organization’s statutes. All materials must be received by midnight on November 8, 2026, in Mayotte time. Submissions can be made via a deposit with a receipt or a registered letter with delivery confirmation to the Directorate of Autonomy in Kawéni, Mamoudzou.
