Seminar focuses on youth integration

The Departmental Union of CCAS and CIAS of Mayotte (UDCCAS) is organizing the fourth Departmental Social Seminar on November 4 and 5, 2026. This year’s event will focus on the social and professional integration of youth in Mayotte, which is home to nearly 60% young people.

Workshops highlight local traditions

On the first day, November 4, participants will visit insertion workshops and projects from the CCAS of Chirongui and Kani-Kéli. More than 80 young people from various communes are expected to take part in activities such as building traditional canoes called laka and intergenerational meetings with the elderly.

Event continues with discussions and initiatives

The second day, November 5, will take place at the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC) of Bouéni. The schedule includes round tables, workshops, and stands from partner organizations. Social sector personalities will also be honored during the day.

New initiative launched for clean water access

The seminar will also launch the "Clean Water for All in Mayotte" initiative, a collaboration between the communes and CCAS of Bouéni, Bandrélé, Chirongui, and Kani-Kéli. The goal is to define a roadmap that strengthens support for young people in Mayotte.
