Limited DualSense controller announced

Sony has revealed a special edition DualSense controller inspired by the Gran Turismo series, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in December 2027. The controller is priced at 84.99 euros and will be available for pre-order starting on October 22 at 10:00 through PlayStation Direct and selected retailers.

Pre-order availability and release date

Pre-orders for the controller will be available at Fnac, Amazon, Micromania, Carrefour, E.Leclerc, and Cdiscount, though prices and stock levels may vary. The controller is expected to be released on December 10, 2026, nearly a year before the series’ 30th anniversary.

Design features of the controller

The special edition controller has a white base with racing stripes and design elements inspired by motorsport liveries. It includes a textured touchpad that mimics carbon fiber, the Gran Turismo logo, a number 30 on the left handle, and a badge celebrating the series’ 100 million games sold. The back, triggers, and edge buttons remain black, similar to the standard white DualSense.

Controller retains core DualSense features

The controller includes the same features as the standard DualSense, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which enhance the immersive experience in Gran Turismo 7 by simulating driving sensations like road texture and vehicle responses.

Release coincides with game update

The announcement of the controller came alongside the release of the free update Spec IV (part 1) for Gran Turismo 7, which adds the Sugo circuit and six new cars. The first Gran Turismo game was released in Japan in December 1997, and the 30th anniversary will be celebrated in December 2027.

Limited availability and purchase advice

Due to its limited production, Sony recommends that interested buyers closely monitor pre-order availability as soon as reservations begin. The controller is intended to be a collectible item for fans of the series.
