The Dyson Gen5 Detect vacuum cleaner, which has received a top "5 stars" rating, is currently available for 649.00 € at Fnac.com. This price is about 28% lower than the usual cost, making it one of the best deals in the current comparison. The Gen5 Detect is Dyson’s latest model from the UK and is equipped with the new Hyperdimium motor, which enhances performance. It also retains the company’s multicyclonic filtration system, known for effectively trapping fine dust and allergens. Additional features include strong suction even in eco mode, a precise battery life indicator down to the second, a unique Point&Shoot system for targeted cleaning, and a built-in suction head that slides directly out of the vacuum tube. While the Gen5 Detect has many strong points, it does have a few drawbacks. Some users find it slightly heavy, and its vibrant, colorful design—while appreciated by many—might not suit everyone’s taste. The price reduction was calculated by comparing today’s lowest price with the average of the lowest prices offered by all retailers last month. To ensure fairness, the calculation excludes stores with unclear VAT policies. An alternative option is the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute, which is lighter than its predecessor, the V11. It offers suction performance that is comparable to the Gen5 Detect, though it is less durable. The V12 also benefits from the same multicyclonic filtration system and features a switch that allows users to toggle between fractional and continuous suction modes. However, some users find the switch’s placement inconvenient, even though the change in suction mode itself doesn’t significantly affect performance. Both models represent strong choices for consumers looking for high-performance vacuums. The Gen5 Detect offers top-tier features at a reduced price, while the V12 Detect Slim Absolute provides a lighter, slightly less durable option. Buyers should consider their specific needs, such as weight, durability, and design preferences, when choosing between these models.
