The Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is a new vacuum cleaner with added washing capabilities. It combines the powerful motor unit of the V15 Detect with a special head called the Submarine, designed to clean hard floors using clear water. The device is currently on sale at 589 € at Darty, which is the lowest price recorded in the last 30 days. This represents a savings of 290 € and a discount of 33 percent. The offer is sold directly by Darty and is aimed at households with mainly hard floors who want to avoid using multiple cleaning devices. The Submarine head is attached to the V15 Detect upright vacuum and is a roller that cleans tiles, wood, and polished concrete. Testing found the V15s Detect Submarine to perform similarly to the V15 Detect Absolute on both hard floors and carpets. It has a suction power of 240 AW and motorized brushes that effectively remove hair, fine dust, and other debris. During tests, the Submarine head removed a two-day-old coffee stain in three passes. It uses a roller to collect small debris and hair, but it does not vacuum while washing. Users must first vacuum, change the brush, and then clean with the Submarine head. The V15s offers up to 60 minutes of battery life in Eco mode for vacuuming and nearly two hours in washing mode. In washing mode, a 40 m² room consumes about 15 percent of the battery. The device has a screen that displays the remaining battery, selected mode, and a particle counter. The Submarine head is best suited for small areas like kitchens or bathrooms, where it can clean stains or puddles without needing to return to vacuuming. However, its 300 ml clean water and 350 ml dirty water reservoirs need to be emptied every 15 minutes or so, making it less ideal for large areas. The V15s Detect Submarine is a hybrid between a traditional vacuum and a washing vacuum. Unlike models like the Tineco Floor One S9 Artist, which clean and vacuum simultaneously, it does not offer these features. However, it provides a unique advantage: the ability to vacuum all floors and textiles using a single motor unit, which other washing vacuums struggle with on thick carpets and rugs. Strengths include a 10/10 vacuum rating, effective cleaning of dried and liquid stains, up to 60 minutes of autonomy in Eco mode, quiet operation, and easy maintenance with washable parts. Limitations include no vacuuming during washing, two passes needed for cleaning, the need to empty reservoirs frequently, and a weight of about 4 kg with the Submarine head attached. At 589 €, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is significantly cheaper than its lowest price in the last 30 days. It is rated 7/10 by the editorial team, making it a suitable option for households that vacuum frequently and clean in small areas. However, for those needing to clean large areas without interruption or who find the weight challenging, a dedicated washing vacuum may be more appropriate. For kitchens, bathrooms, and carpeted areas that require a single device, the V15s is worth considering.
