Katie Price, the 48-year-old former glamour model and media personality, has publicly urged her terminally ill mother, Amy, to "find the strength" to stay with her as Amy continues to battle a serious lung disease. This heartfelt plea comes after Katie revealed that her 74-year-old mother was in the hospital and "very poorly," adding emotional weight to the family's ongoing struggle. Amy has been living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a rare and serious lung condition that causes scarring in the lungs, making it harder to breathe. The condition is often progressive, with symptoms like shortness of breath, a persistent dry cough, fatigue, and clubbing of the fingernails. IPF has no known cure, but treatments can help manage its effects. Amy was diagnosed with IPF in 2017 and was initially told she had three to five years to live. However, she has defied expectations, including undergoing a life-saving lung transplant in late 2022 after her condition worsened significantly. Katie shared her emotional plea on Instagram, writing, "Mum, please don't leave me; please find the strength to stay with me longer on this earth. You're my EVERYTHING." She described her mother as a "warrior" and emphasized how much Amy has supported her throughout life. The message followed an interview on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, where she revealed that her mother had been admitted to the hospital and was in poor health. Katie also spoke about how difficult it has been to see her once-independent mother rely on others for help, despite her sharp mind and strong personality. Despite the severity of Amy's condition, she has continued to surprise her family with her resilience. During the making of Katie's recent documentary, the family feared for Amy's life on several occasions. However, Amy defied those fears, even attending the Baftas with her daughter in February. Katie reflected on how her mother has kept fighting through it all, saying, "She just keeps battling through and I never thought she'd make the BAFTAs, none of us did." As Amy is now back in the hospital, Katie's focus remains on spending more time with her mother, whom she describes as her "eyes," "voice," and "strength." Her message ends with a simple, heartfelt plea: "I can't lose you, not now not EVER."
