Zelda anniversary edition available for pre-order

E.leclerc is offering the The Legend of Zelda 40th-anniversary edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 for pre-order at 545 euros. The price guarantee ensures customers will be charged the lowest price if it decreases before the console is shipped.

Nintendo celebrates Zelda’s 40th anniversary

On September 8, Nintendo held a special Nintendo Direct event to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. The event announced a remake of Ocarina of Time for the Switch 2, set to release on November 5, and a live-action film scheduled for April 30, 2027.

Anniversary console features themed design

The Switch 2 40th-anniversary edition includes the Triforce pattern, a symbol of the Zelda series, on the console and its accessories. It comes with the console, two Joy-Con 2 controllers, a stand, wrist straps, a dock, and other standard components, but no games are included.

Technical specifications remain unchanged

The anniversary edition is functionally identical to a standard Switch 2. It features a 7.9-inch 1080p screen, supports up to 4K on a television, and can display up to 120 frames per second in compatible games. It also supports HDR and uses magnetic connectors for the Joy-Con 2.

Interactive feature in the Ocarina of Time remake

The Ocarina of Time remake will allow players to use the built-in microphone of the Switch 2 to hum melodies that Link has learned. The game will then play the corresponding ocarina tune, giving players a chance to participate in the game’s music.

Value and availability of the anniversary edition

The anniversary edition is priced higher than a standard Switch 2, but it is in short supply. E.leclerc’s pre-order offer is valuable for its availability just days before the console’s release and its price guarantee. If the design is not a priority, the standard Switch 2 offers the same performance at a lower cost.
