Zelda anniversary case announced

Nintendo unveiled a special carrying case for the Switch 2 to mark the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda during a Direct event on September 8, 2026. The case is part of a series of anniversary celebrations for the iconic video game franchise.

Case design and features

The case features a black and gold color scheme with the Triforce as its central design element. The Triforce is a well-known symbol in the series, representing the three divine powers that shape the Zelda universe. It includes a screen protector and is designed to protect the console from scratches and minor impacts.

Pricing and availability

The Zelda-themed case is available for pre-order at Cultura for 39.99 €, which is 15 € more than the standard Switch 2 case sold on the My Nintendo Store for 24.99 €. The higher price reflects the special edition’s commemorative value and design.

Release timing and demand

The case will be released on October 29, 2026, alongside the Zelda edition of the Switch 2. It will also be available one week before the anticipated release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on November 5, 2026. Initial demand has been high, with the case selling out quickly after the Direct event.

Pre-order and stock updates

Cultura and other retailers advise customers to check the product page regularly, as the case has previously sold out and may not be in stock for long. The Zelda edition of the Switch 2 also faced stock shortages shortly after its announcement.
