Tram line 2 construction underway

The tram line 2 construction project for the Tours metropolitan area is currently disrupting traffic in the area of Boulevard Jean Royer, des Fontaines, de l'Alouette, in the center of La Riche and will soon affect bridges crossing the Cher from the Verdun Crossroads.

New bus route development

In parallel with this major project, the Syndicat des Mobilités de Touraine and Tours Métropole are developing a new route for bus line N°2, also known as the High Service Level Bus.

Future bus connections

Once line B is in place between La Riche and Chambray, the Tempo buses will connect Les Douets of Tours-Nord to the Atlantes of St-Pierre-des-Corps. A new route that authorities want to make efficient by planning dedicated bus lanes, allowing them to avoid traffic jams.

Construction starts on Boulevard Heurteloup

A first phase of construction work will begin this Monday, October 19, on Boulevard Heurteloup, where bus lanes will be created. During the construction, cars will only be able to circulate on one lane in each direction.

Traffic changes and parking disruptions

Access to the boulevard will still be possible via the various streets that cross it, but parking will be disrupted on the sidewalks (no changes to the central mail). Buses will continue to circulate, although temporary stops may be set up.

Long-term project timeline

All of this will last a long time since the end of operations is not expected before the middle of 2027. To avoid excessive congestion, it is recommended to use alternative routes to reach the city center, the A10, or the Velpeau and Blanqui neighborhoods (banks of the Loire, Rue Edouard Vaillant...).
