Garmin unveils the Vivoactive 6, a more affordable connected watch with improved features like a brighter screen and smart alarm, available at a reduced price.
New Garmin Watch Released
Garmin introduced the sixth generation of its connected watch series, the Garmin Vivoactive 6, in April 2025. This model is more affordable and accessible to the general public compared to the brand’s more advanced and expensive sports watches.Improved Features and Price Drop
The Garmin Vivoactive 6 improves upon the Vivoactive 5 with a brighter AMOLED screen, a smart alarm that wakes the user during light sleep phase, more than 80 integrated sports, and running data such as cadence, stride length, or power. The watch is currently available on Amazon at a reduced price of 189 euros, down from its launch price of 329.99 euros in April 2025.Design and Durability
The Garmin Vivoactive 6 has a classic look with a round and compact case that weighs 36 grams with its strap and 23 grams without. Its screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, which is sufficient for sports and daily use. The case is made of polymer with an aluminum bezel. It is water-resistant up to 5 ATM (equivalent to 50 meters depth) and is suitable for swimming, but Garmin excludes it for diving.Smart Features and Connectivity
The Garmin interface is well thought out, and the Connect IQ store allows users to add dials and applications. The watch includes an Elevate Gen 4 optical sensor that measures heart rate, SpO2, and stress to display a Body Battery score out of 100. It also analyzes sleep, steps, menstrual cycles, and breathing. Garmin Pay allows NFC payments, and the watch has 8 GB of storage for listening to music without a phone (Spotify, Deezer, or Amazon Music, with a subscription).Battery Life and Performance
Garmin claims up to 11 days in connected watch mode, but only 5 days with the screen always on. With GPS, the battery life ranges between 17 hours (all satellite systems) and 21 hours (GPS only). The charging is done via Garmin's proprietary cable (USB-C on the port) and takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to return to 100%.
